2026 KJCCC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week - Week 4
Tying a school record and setting another across two events last week, Cloud County Community College’s Alpha Mpofu has earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors and is joined by Week 4 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Kaden Berry of Cowley.
Alpha Mpofu (Cloud County) – KJCCC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Alpha Mpofu tied the Cloud County 200-meter record with a time of 21.30 before going on to break the T-Bird record in the 400 meters with a time of 46.65. The sophomore also ran the anchor leg on the 4x400 meter relay, recording a split of 46.58 for CCCC. Mpofu now ranks fourth in the NJCAA in the 400 meters and ninth in the 200 meters, while the 4x400 meter relay time was a national qualifying mark and ranks seventh.

Berry tied for second at the Wichita State University Coach Wilson Invitational in the pole vault, finishing as the highest NJCAA competitor in the meet with a mark of 4.84 meters (15 ft. - 10.5 in.). The mark is the fifth-best in Cowley College history and ranks number five in the NJCAA this season.
