Cloud County Track to Compete in 2024 NJCAA Indoor Track Championships

Coming off a pair of NJCAA Region VI Indoor Track and Field team championship performances, the Cloud County Community College women's and men's track and field teams will have 30 athletes compete across 31 different events at the 2024 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held inside the Alachua County Sports and Events Center in Gainesville, Florida beginning on Friday, March 1st.

The two-day meet will feature 22 different events featuring T-Bird athletes on Friday beginning at 10 AM Eastern Time (9 AM Central Time) beginning with the women's pentathlon and men's heptathlon. In the latest United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Polls released on February 21st, the Cloud County women are ranked fourth with an electronic calculated score of 264.79 points while the CCCC men are ranked 11th with 108.15 total points.

Eight different events for the Cloud County women have marks that rank inside the top-five ahead of the National Championship meet led by a trio of events ranking inside the top-five with N Vanee Anchike (1,000 meters – second, 5,000 meters – third, mile run – fourth) along with the top-ranked 4x800 meter relay team (Mercy AngaamchaabNontokozo NcubeOzia Trujillo, Anchike) and distance medley relay team (Angaamchaab, Rafiatu Nuhu, Ncube, Anchike). As for the men, Cloud County has four events with top-five marks including the fifth-best distance medley relay time (Nirmit DahiyaCorey OtteyKamogelo Thipe, and Siyabonga Mokgothu) in addition to top-five marks from Mohamed Belhassen (pole vault, fifth), Thipe (800 meters, fifth), and the 4x800 relay team (Mokgothu, Nichalas PowerIshmael Acheampong, and Thipe – fourth).
