Cloud County Volleyball Splits Matches at KWU JV Triangular

Feeling both the high of a three-set sweep and the low of a five-set heartbreaking loss, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team would split a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon by defeating Kansas Wesleyan JV 3-0 before having a five-match winning streak snapped in a five-set loss to Ottawa University JV inside Muir Gymnasium in Salina, Kansas on September 23rd.

Despite the defeat, Cloud County moves to 14-6 overall with their seventh victory coming in the form of a sweep. Scores against Kansas Wesleyan University JV in the opening match saw CCCC win 25-20, 25-14, and 25-23 while the match against Ottawa JV not only went five sets but was decided in extra points in the fifth set as the Braves dealt the T-Birds a 19-25, 25-19, 25-17, 19-25, 20-18 defeat. Kansas Wesleyan JV dropped to 4-7 overall following the match with Cloud County while Ottawa JV earned their 18th win of the year to improve to 18-8.

What's Next?
Just two matches take place for Cloud County on next week's schedule with both games coming on Wednesday, September 27th when the T-Birds head to Pratt to take on Pratt and Independence in a triangular hosted by the Beavers. CCCC will play host Pratt in a 4 PM Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference matchup at 4 PM before taking on the Pirates in non-conference action at 6 PM. The Beavers are currently 2-10 overall going into a road match at Seward County on Saturday evening and will also play a road triangular on Monday, September 25th against Allen County and Friends JV prior to the match on Wednesday. Independence sports a 4-12 overall record following a loss to Seminole State College on Saturday afternoon and will not play again prior to Wednesday's match against Cloud County.
