Coming off performances at the 2022 Gans Creek Classic, the Cloud County Community College women's and men's cross country teams once again find themselves inside the top 25 of the latest United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association NJCAA Division I Cross Country polls released by the USTFCCCA on Wednesday, October 5th.

Moving up one spot from ninth to eighth is the Cloud County women while the men sit at number 15 in the latest poll of the 2022 cross country season.

In the women's poll, CCCC is one of four schools from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference to hold a top-10 ranking as second-ranked Hutchinson and fifth-ranked Butler both are ranked ahead of the T-Birds. Just behind Cloud County in ninth is Dodge City following a two-spot jump after being ranked 11th in the first poll of the season. Other KJCCC schools to be ranked in the latest women's poll include Garden City at number 13, Fort Scott at number 14, and Neosho County sitting at number 19. Topping the poll for the second-consecutive poll is defending national champion College of Southern Idaho who has competed in just one event up to this point of the season.

Only one change occurred in the top 10 of the Top-25 men's poll this week, with Salt Lake Community College and College of Southern Idaho swapping spots at number eight and number 11 respectively. Cloud County's ranking of number 15 is one of six KJCCC schools to receive a top-25 ranking this week, with Colby Community College holding down the top spot at number one for a second-straight poll. Other Jayhawk Conference teams inside the top 25 include Northwest Kansas Tech (sixth), Butler (seventh), Cloud County (15th), Hutchinson (17th), and Garden City (22nd).

The T-Birds are off from competition this week before returning to action next Friday, October 14th as a change in schedule will send CCCC to El Dorado to take part in the 2022 Ollie Isom Classic hosted by Butler Community College. The meet will be the final regular-season race of the season for Cloud County prior to the 2022 NJCAA Region VI Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas on Friday, October 28th.
