Following a 15-win campaign during the 2021-22 season, the Cloud County Community College women's basketball team is once again ready for another 30-game slate when they tip off their 2022-23 season under 35th-year head coach Brett Erkenbrack at 6 PM Tuesday night with a home game against North Platte Community College.

With three starters returning from last year's squad, Cloud County will have the luxury of playing four of their six non-conference games at home this season in addition to 12 of their 24 games within the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference as the T-Birds will have five of their six non-conference games come prior to their KJCCC opener on Wednesday, November 16th. In total, seven of their 10 games that will take place in the month of November will come inside the friendly confines of Arley Bryant Gymnasium along with two of their four games in the month of December as fans will have the opportunity to see CCCC at home seven times before the calendar turns to 2023.

Returning from last year's squad are sophomores Te Araroa Sopoaga, Makayla Twyman, and Jessi Brummett as the three combined for 45 starts as the trio combined for nearly 30 percent of CCCC's total scoring output a season ago. Sopoaga, a returning All-KJCCC Third-Team Selection was second on the team in points per game (12.6) a season ago while leading the T-Birds in rebounds per game (8.1). Twyman returns following her freshman campaign that saw the Poteau, Oklahoma native average 7.1 points per and 1.8 assists per contest. Brummett will look for more minutes this season following the departure of three forwards from last year's team as the Manhattan, Kansas native would average 9.2 minutes per game while scoring 2.7 points per contest.

Following Tuesday's home action with North Platte, Cloud County will close out their week on the road with a 5 PM road match at Highland Community College on Friday, November 4th before preparing for a three-game week the following week. After hosting Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on Monday, November 7th, the T-Birds will play host to McCook Community College on Thursday, November 10tht before a trip to Northeast Community College on November 12th.
