Setting a single-game program record with eight RBI in a 25-4 win over Garden City last Friday, Cloud County Community College baseball redshirt freshman Jakob Poturnak has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference West Division Player of the Week.

Setting the school record in the series finale against the Broncbusters as part of a 4-0 series sweep for the T-Birds, Poturnak hit two home runs in the game and had four total hits accounting for the eight runs driven in to break a record previously held by five different T-Birds. Poturnak recorded a slugging percentage of .944 and had hits in three of the four games of the series to lead CCCC against the Broncbusters to secure an opening-round home playoff series next week. On the season, Poturnak leads Cloud County with 28 extra-base hits, 52 RBI, and 16 home runs with the home run total ranking third in the KJCCC and RBI total ranking 13th in the conference. Poturnak also ranks fifth in total bases in the KJCCC with 123 and is in the top 20 in school history in single-season home runs (3rd), hits (20th), and RBI (15th).
