Concordia Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams Open Season at Clay Center Invitational

The Concordia High School Boys and Girls Track and Field teams both opened their 2024 season at the Clay Center Varsity Invitational in Clay Center on Tuesday, April 2nd.  The Panthers girls scored 88 points to finish in 3rd place, while the Concordia Boys notched a 4th place team finish with 69 points.

Sophomore Kynlee Hamel placed 1st overall in the Girls High Jump with a jump of 4' 10.  Three other Concordia girls also finished in the top eight in the High Jump.  Freshman Gabi Lange placed 3rd with a jump of 4' 8.  Freshman Oakleigh Teal was 5th overall with a jump of 4' 6, and Sophomore Lindsey Burk was 7th individually with a jump of 4' 4.

Hamel also posted a 3rd place finish in the Girls 100M Run in a time of 13.33.  Freshman Madalyn Bowers finished in 4th place in the Girls 100M Run in a time of 13.54, while Freshman Lillian Nuss was 7th in the event in a time of 13.65.

Nuss placed 3rd in the Girls 200M Run in a time of 28.82.  Bowers was 5th overall in the Girls 200M Run in a time of 28.99.

Nuss also teamed with Lange, Brexlynn Koch and Charlize Cash on the Girls 4x400M Relay team.  The team finished in 3rd place in a time of 4:34.50.

Cash, a sophomore, placed 2nd overall in the Girls 300M Hurdles in a time of 51.43.  Senior Carlie Carlgren was 4th in the Girls 300M Hurdles in a time of 17.46.

Carlgren scored a 2nd place finish in the Girls 100M Hurdles in a time of 16.02.  Cash finished 3rd in the Girls 200M Hurdles in a time of 17.46.

Carlgren also delivered an 8th place finish in the Girls Javelin with a throw of 91' 0.

Lange placed 3rd overall in the Girls Pole Vault with a vault of 8' 6.  Junior Keely Kindel placed 8th in Girls Pole Vault with a vault of 7' 6.

In the Girls Triple Jump, Junior Aubrey Stahlman recorded a 5th place finish with a jump of 29' 8.5.  Lange placed 7th in the Girls Triple Jump with a jump of 28' 10.25.

Stahlman teamed with Skye Johnson, Rylie Jessup and Hannah Bridwell on the Girls 4x800M Relay team.  The team finished in 4th place in a time of 11:45.75.

Bridwell, a freshman, earned a 2nd place finish in the Girls 3200M run in a time of 13:29.26.

In the Girls Long Jump, Junior Asia Garcia turned in a 7th place finish with a leap of 14' 2.75.

Garcia finished 8th overall in the Girls 400M Run in a time of 1:17.04.

On the boys side, Concordia received top individual finishes from Freshman Burke Kindel and Sophomore Grayson Stephens.

Kindel secured a 1st place finish in the Boys Pole Vault with a vault of 11' 6.

Kindel also placed 5th in the Boys Long Jump with a leap of 18' 0.5.

Stephens captured a 1st place finish in the Boys 400M Run in a time of 57.95.  Also in the Boys 400M Run, Freshman Alex Gallardo placed 8th overall in a time of 1:11.08.

Stephens joined Ryker Wildeman, Cody Trost and Kaide Gropp on the Boys 4x400M Relay team.  The team posted a 3rd place finish in a time of 3:49.04.

Gropp, a junior placed 3rd overall in the Boys 100M Run in a time of 11.53.

Gropp also captured a 3rd place finish in the Boys 200M Run in a time of 23.52.  Junior Jagger Johnson was 7th overall in the Boys 200M Run in a time of 25.39.

Trost, a senior, placed 3rd overall in the Boys Triple Jump with a jump of 39' 11.5.  Junior Carter Eakins also competed in the Boys Triple Jump, finishing in 6th place with a jump of 31' 4.5.

Freshman Isaias Irigoyen recorded a 2nd place finish in the Boys High Jump with a jump of 5' 4.  Freshman Ian Loudermilk was 5th overall in the Boys High Jump with a leap of 5' 2.

Loudermilk posted a 6th place finish in the Boys 300M Hurdles in a time of 56.08.  Irigoyen was 7th overall in a time of 56.42.

Freshman Brody Marsh turned in a time of 14:14.59 to finish in 6th place in the Boys 3200M Run.

Junior JJ Riley notched a 2nd place finish in the Boys Discus with a toss of 123' 2.5.  Junior Dane Cleveland posted a 6th place finish in the Boys Discus with a toss of 105' 7.75.

Riley placed 6th overall in the Boys Javelin with a toss of 116' 11, while Cleveland was in 8th place with a toss of 108' 11.
