Concordia Boys Golf Team Finishes 2nd at Home Invitational

The Concordia High School Boys Varsity Golf team posted a second place finish at their home invitational at Concordia Golf & Wellness on Monday, April 24th.  The Panthers ended up with a four-man score of 331, finishing second behind Clay Center who had a 325.

Sophomore Luke Donovan fired a 78 to finish third overall.

"Luke Donovan showed a lot of grit today after struggling with hole number four on both the front and back nines," CHS Boys Golf Coach Gene Rundus said.  "We need this kind of bounce back and I was impressed to see him finish only one stroke off the lead."

Senior Aden Plymesser carded an 81 to tie for sixth place overall.

"Aden Plymesser continues to be solid in our lineup.  His calm demeanor is a real asset," Coach Rundus said.

Junior Lewis VanMeter scored an 84.  Sophomore Lennon Ninemire had an 88.  Senior Keegan Hamel shot a 91, and Sophomore Karson Lister posted a 96.

The Panthers had both their varsity and junior varsity teams compete in the meet.

Junior Parker Teel led the JV squad with an 81.

"Parker Teel had a great round today, and I hope he will capitalize on it as he challenges for a varsity spot," Coach Rundus said.

Sophomore Andrew Henderson finished with a 92.  Senior Jaxon Brooks and Junior Justus Trost each carded a 105, while Senior Brett Rosenbaum finished with a 114.

The Panthers next will be in action on Thursday, April 27th when they compete in the Clay Center Invitational at the Clay Center Country Club.  Other participating schools are Clay Center, Abilene, Chapman, Manhattan C.H.I.E.F. (Christian Homes in Educational Fellowship), Marysville, Republic County and Wamego.  Tee-time is set for 3 pm.
