Concordia Boys Golf Team Places 3rd, Two Finish in Top Ten at Abilene Invitational

Concordia Junior Lewis VanMeter medaled in 8th place and Senior Aden Plymesser finished 10th to lead the Concordia High School Boys Golf team at the Abilene Invitational at Stagg Hill Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas on Monday, April 17th.

VanMeter shot rounds of 46 and 40 to finish at 86, while Plymesser shot rounds of 43 and 44 to post an 87.  Plymesser won a card playoff to medal 10th overall.

"It was a beautiful day for golf, and I felt that the guys played well overall.  Lewis recorded his first competition Eagle of his career on hole 12, so that was pretty special.  I was also pleased that Aden won his card playoff to secure a 10th place medal," Coach Gene Rundus said.

Other Panthers results saw Luke Donovan and Keegan Hamel both shoot a 90, while Karson Lister and Lennon Ninemire each shot a 96.

Concordia had a four-man score of 353 to finish third behind Clay Center and Circle.

Concordia will next be in action at the Beloit Invitational at the Beloit Country Club on Thursday, April 20th.  Other participating schools are Beloit, Ellsworth, Minneapolis, Osborne, Republic County, Sacred Heart, Smith Center and Southeast of Saline.  Tee-time is set for 3 pm.
