Concordia Dropping from Class 4A to 3A After KSHSAA Releases 2022-23 School Classifications

After competing as one of the smallest Class 4A schools in the state in recent years, Concordia High School will now experience what it's like to be one of the largest Class 3A programs.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association released the 2022-2023 School Classifications on Friday, September 23rd.  Enrollment figures are as of September 20, 2022 based on ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades.

KSHSAA set the bottom number for Class 4A at 323.  Concordia reported an official count day enrollment of 294 this month, sending the Panthers into Class 3A.  For football, the Panthers already compete in Class 3A.  The Concordia Wrestling team will continue to compete in Class 4A.

Concordia was the only school to drop from Class 4A to 3A, while Hugoton High School moved from 3A to 4A.
