The Concordia High School Varsity Girls Golf team ended up with a 5th place finish Thursday, September 8th at the Wamego Invitational with a team total of 255.

Wamego won the outing at 159.

Junior Emma Herman was the Panthers' top golfer with a 54, placing 16th individually.

"I thought that Emma did a great job of managing her game today," CHS Golf Coach Gene Rundus said.  "There was a premium on hitting fairways, and she made good decisions that helped her stay out of trouble."

Senior Cianna DeLeon shot a 64.  Senior Georgia Trost had a 68, while Senior Peyton Johnson finished with a 69.

"The thick grass in the lateral hazards was a big factor for all the teams, so there were quite a few unplayable lies that led to some higher scores," Rundus told KNCK Sports.  "I was proud of how the girls handled themselves and helped their groups when there were questions about the rules and how strokes should be assessed today.  That's super important to me and to what we are trying to do as a program."
