The Concordia High School Boys Basketball team closed the 2022-2023 season out with an end-of-year awards banquet at Concordia Golf & Wellness on Friday, March 24th.

At the banquet, Coach Derek Holmes handed out his end-of-season awards.  Two players received plaques for their work in the 2022-2023 season.

Aceyn Cash was named the Most Outstanding Senior and the winner of the Ed Walters Free-Throw Award.  Cash, a First Team All-North Central Kansas League selection, led the Panthers with 11.6 points per game, while shooting 42.1 percent from the floor.  Cash also posted 6.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game, and he led the team with 23 blocked shots.

Junior Point Guard Joey Henderson, another First Team All-North Central Kansas League selection, received the Garrett Farha Top Assist Award.  Henderson averaged 10.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, a team-best 3.6 assists, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 42 percent from the floor.

This year, Junior Payton Breese and Sophomore Peyton Retter also received Honorable Mention All-North Central Kansas League recognition.

Breese averaged 9.2 points per game, leading the team with 53 made three-pointers off 44.9 percent shooting from behind the arc.  He also added 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Retter averaged 9.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.  Retter shot 41.9 percent from the floor and 41 percent from three-point range, with 43 made three-pointers on the season.

Concordia concluded its 2022-2023 year at 10-11 overall.
