The Concordia High School Girls Golf team shot a 211 Thursday, September 28th to place fifth at the Clay Center Invitational at the Clay Center Country Club.

"The girls managed the course pretty well throughout their rounds; however, we were forced to take shots that got us out of trouble far too often," Coach Gene Rundus told KNCK Sports.

The Panthers were led by Freshman Mya Niehues who medaled 2nd individually with a 39.

"Mya looked good today," Coach Rundus said afterwards.  "She had a chip in bird on 7 and a great putt on 9 to save par, which was the hole that broke a tiebreaker for 2nd place."

Concordia Sophomore Anna Widen tied for 24th with a 54.  Freshman Maddie Bowers and Senior Emma Herman both tied for 30th with a 59.  Rounding out the Panther lineup, Senior Kaitlyn Nelson carded a 63 while Senior Brecklynn Bonner had a 65.

The Concordia High School Girls Golf team returns to action on Monday, October 2nd when they head to Hays for the Thomas More Prep-Marian Invitational.
