The 2026 Spring Sports Season at Concordia High School officially begins this week as the Concordia baseball and softball teams host the Buffaloes of Republic County on Friday, March 27th. Below is the preview for each of the five spring sports.

Boys Golf

In 2025, Concordia as a team punched its ticket to the KSHSAA State Championship Meet held at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton. At State, Concordia finished 12th as a team. Below are the individual placers:

The previous season's team featured a very senior-heavy roster, with 7 total, 4 of whom were the State representatives: Ninemire, Donovan, Henderson, and Retter. It also featured the final season under the direction of long-time Golf Coach Gene Rundus. Jeremy Casey will now take over as Head Coach of the Panthers

Boys Tennis

The 2025 Boys Tennis team featured Senior Evan Bombardier, who qualified for the 2025 State Championship Meet as an individual. Bombardier competed in the Singles portion of the state tournament and won a match.

Under the direction of head coach John Turner, the Panthers bring back several members from last year's team. Including varsity Juniors Noah Wood and Eli Henderson. Below is the 2026 schedule for Boys Tennis:

Track

The 2025 Girls Track season was a special one. Junior Gabi Lange earned a State Medal after finishing 4th in the girls' pole vault with a vault of 10 feet. Sophomore Avery Kueker finished in 7th place in the girls' high jump with a jump of 5'2. The Lady Panthers finished 3rd as a team in their Regional and sent 6 individual athletes to State, and 2 relay teams, all of whom are returning for the 2026 season!

The 2025 Boys Track season featured 3 athletes who advanced to the State Championship meet in Wichita. Senior Dane Cleveland qualified in shot put, Burke Kindel qualified in pole vault, and Reese Franklin finished in 13th in the triple jump. Kindel and Franklin are returning for 2026.

Baseball

The 2025 baseball season featured a team with no Seniors, unique. Concordia finished with a 15-8 overall record and earned the #7 seed in the 4A West Sub-State. Concordia was defeated by the #10 seed Abilene in the first round of the sub-state, who went on to win the sub-state and punch their ticket to state for the 4th season in a row.

The 2026 Panthers return their entire 2025 roster, something that rarely happens in all sports. This includes NCKL honorable mention pitcher Senior Chane Parker, NCKL honorable mention shortstop Junior Drake Blochlinger, and 1st team NCKL outfielder Junior Boone Richard. All 8 of the Panthers' losses in 2025 came from the tough NCKL that sent 3 out of 7 teams to State.

Concordia this season will be under the direction of Interim Head Coach and current High School Athletic Director Skyler Hittle after former Head Coach Dustin Bender stepped down. Below is the 2026 schedule:

Softball

The 2025 Concordia Lady Panther softball team finished with an 8-13 overall record and as the #15 seed in the 4A West Sub-State. Concordia was defeated by NCKL foe and #2 seed Chapman in the first round of the postseason. Chapman advanced to State.

The Lady Panthers lose key pieces Kinsleigh Bethune, Kenlee Williams, and Katelyn Reedy from the 2025 team; however, they return NCKL honorable mention pitcher Junior Jaylin Roush, along with other key pieces Morgan Lister and Catelin Benyshek.
