Concordia High School Volleyball Team Splits Home League Matches with Marysville
The Concordia High School Volleyball team split a pair of North Central Kansas League matches against the Marysville Bulldogs on Thursday, September 22nd.
The Panthers, now 5-11 overall and 2-2 in league play, dropped the opener to Marysville in three sets, 25-22, 20-25, 23-25. Junior Callie Parker had 6 kills, 2 blocks, 3 digs, and 2 points with 1 ace. Junior Carlie Carlgren finished with 6 kills, 3 points, 1 block and 7 digs. Freshman Kynlee Hamel posted 6 kills and 1 block. Sophomore Kenlee Williams turned in 5 kills, 3 digs, and 2 blocks. Senior Shaelin Giersch had 4 kills, 2 blocks and 3 digs. Senior Madison Starr added 4 points with 1 ace, and 7 digs. Senior Hanna Acree finished with 5 points and 7 digs. Sophomore Kinsleigh Bethune posted 5 points with 1 ace. Sophomore Taylor McDaniel added 2 kills and 7 digs, while Freshman Baylen Arnold had 8 points, 3 aces and 9 digs.
Concordia bounced back from the loss to take down the Bulldogs in straight sets, 25-21, 25-10. Parker led the way with 13 points with 3 aces, 4 kills, 3 blocks and 2 digs. Acree had 9 points with 1 ace and 3 digs. Carlgren posted 6 kills, 5 digs and 2 blocks. Williams finished with 5 kills and 1 block. McDaniel ended up with 4 kills. Giersch had 2 kills, 2 blocks and 1 dig. Starr turned in 5 digs. Hamel had 1 kill and 3 digs. Bethune added 3 points with 1 ace, while Arnold finished with 4 points and 3 digs.
