Concordia Volleyball Ends Season in First Round of Class 4A Sub-State Tournament

Concordia fell in the opening round of the Class 4A Sub-State Tournament in Towanda against Towanda-Circle on Saturday, Oct. 23 to end their season with a 10-24 record.

The 2021 fall season came to a close for the Concordia High School volleyball team after falling in straight sets in the first round of their 2021 KSHSAA Class 4A Sub-State Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, October 23.

Concordia finishes the season with a 10-24 record.

The Lady Panthers fell to the Towanda-Circle Thunderbirds, 17-25, 12-25.  Senior Jara Nordell had 4 kills and 2 digs.  Junior Shaelin Giersch finished with 3 points, 2 kills and 3 digs.  Sophomore Callie Parker posted 2 kills, 1 block and 2 digs.  Freshman Taylor McDaniel ended up with 3 points, 2 kills and 4 digs.  Junior Hanna Acree had 9 digs, while Sophomore Hattie Blackwood had 7 digs.

"We would like to send a special thank you to our seniors and their families for their dedication to the CHS Lady Panther Volleyball Program," Coach Rio Brown said after the match.  "We will sure miss our seniors- Ashley Bartlett, Tessa Christensen, Kira Kearn, Jara Nordell and Maddie Schlyer.  Thank you for all you have done for our volleyball family and the impact you have had on and off of the court.  We wish you the best in the rest of your senior year and look forward to hearing of your future successes."
