Concordia Volleyball Remains Perfect in NCKL Play, Records Home Sweep of Wamego
The Concordia High School Volleyball team held their 2023 home opener Tuesday, September 26th, recording a sweep of the Wamego Red Raiders in North Central Kansas League play.
The Panthers won the first match in straight sets, 25-16, 25-21. Senior Hattie Blackwood had 9 points with 2 aces, 3 digs and 11 assists. Senior Callie Parker posted 2 points with 1 ace, 11 assists, 6 kills, 1 block and 5 digs. Senior Carlie Carlgren provided 3 points with 1 ace, 6 kills, 1 block and 7 digs. Sophomore Kynlee Hamel notched 5 kills, 1 assist, 2 blocks and 3 digs. Junior Taylor McDaniel recorded 5 points, 3 kills and 6 digs. Sophomore Baylen Arnold turned in 7 points with 1 ace and 12 digs. Sophomore Charlize Cash added 3 digs, 2 kills and 1 block, while Junior Kenlee Williams finished with 3 kills, 2 blocks and 4 digs.
Concordia also took match two in two sets, 25-22, 25-14. Parker led the way with 9 kills, 6 digs, 1 block, and 6 points with 2 aces. McDaniel had 5 points with 1 ace, 6 digs, 4 kills and 1 block. Carlgren finished with 2 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs and 2 points. Blackwood posted 6 points and 4 digs. Hamel added 2 kills, 1 block and 7 points. Arnold collected 3 points and 8 digs. Williams provided 4 kills and 2 blocks, while Junior Kinsleigh Bethune had 2 points with 1 ace.
The Panthers, 11-9 overall and 6-0 in the league, take the court again this Saturday, September 30th when they host the Concordia Invitational.
