Concordia Wrestling Team Remains at No. 8 in Latest Class 4A Rankings

Heading into the holiday break, the Concordia High School Wrestling team has maintained their spot in the latest Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association Class 4A rankings.

Announced this week, Head Coach Josh Brown's team clocks in at the No. 8 spot.  

The Concordia High School Wrestling team went unbeaten on Tuesday, December 20th, winning the Republic County Holiday Duals wrestling tournament.  The Panthers earned wins over Nemaha Central (59-18), Beloit (42-37), Hill City (66-18), and Republic County (45-30).  During the first month of the season, Concordia also posted first place finishes at the Raider Classic in Wamego and the December Duals in Louisburg, while they placed second behind Great Bend in the Cardinal Corner Classic in Hoisington.  The Panthers also earned their first North Central Kansas League dual win of the year over Marysville, 42-28, on December 15th.

The Panthers have five grapplers ranked in the upper echelon of their weight class with Junior Christian Belden at 106 lbs., Junior Ashton Dooley at 113 lbs., Senior Koby Tyler at 120 lbs., Senior Daniel Vines at 132 lbs., and Sophomore Tracer Murdock at 190 lbs.

Concordia looks for another strong showing in two weeks when they travel to Wamego to face the Wamego Red Raiders in a North Central Kansas League dual on Thursday, January 5th.
