During their first series of a home matchup against Abilene, the Concordia High School Football team looked very good on offense.  Junior Quarterback Braeden Primeaux navigated an 11 play, 65-yard drive and the Panthers jumped out to an early 8-0 lead.

After the strong start, Concordia managed just six first downs over the next 42 minutes and was penalized nine times for 45-yards.  The offense did not threaten Abilene much in the final two frames, and while they did not turn the ball over, they were never able to get anything going.

Cowboy Junior Quarterback Stocton Timbrook threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another score, helping Abilene turn a 14-8 halftime lead into a three score win, 27-8.  The victory Friday, September 9th snapped Abilene's five-game losing streak to Concordia, improving Abilene to 2-0 on the season while the Panthers drop their first game of the year.

The Panther offense got off to a strong start with four first downs on their first possession.  Four players touched the ball on the drive, ending with Primeaux scoring on a 1-yard rushing touchdown with 6:34 left in the first quarter.

Abilene got the ball at the Concordia 45 and took advantage five players later when Junior Fullback Zach Miller found the end zone on a 7-yard touchdown run.  Timbrook added the point after and Concordia's lead was trimmed to 8-7 at the end of the first period.

Hake broke away on a 52-yard run on Concordia's third possession.  The play took the ball all the way to the Abilene 3-yard line for first-and-goal.

Hake got a yard on first down.  Primeaux picked up another yard on second down, setting up third-and-goal.

On third-and-goal, Primeaux was stopped for no gain.

Back-to-back penalties -- a delay of game followed by a false start -- stymied the Concordia drive.

Facing fourth-and-goal from the 12, Primeaux was tackled for a loss by Freshman Lineman Heath Hoekman, resulting in a turnover on downs.

Concordia twice turned the ball over on downs and punted the ball away three times in the first half.

Late in the second quarter, Timbrook lofted a perfect 5-yard touchdown pass to Sophomore Wide Receiver Weston Rock and Abilene led 14-8 at the intermission.

The Panthers were held to just 23 rushing yards and only 69 total yards in the second half.

Timbrook lunged for a 1-yard rushing touchdown on a quarterback sneak with 4:36 remaining in the third frame.   The run was Timbrook's first rushing touchdown of the season.

Timbrook later zipped a 3-yard touchdown pass to Rock with 2:20 left in the game, leading Abilene to a 27-8 win.

The Panthers posted 262 total yards, including 166 on the ground.  Seven players carried the ball for Concordia, led by Hake who had 12 carries for 113 yards to go along with one reception for 26 yards

For the contest, Primeaux went 9-for-16 for 96 yards.  The junior added one rushing score and 27 yards rushing and was named our Nex-Tech Wireless MVP of the Game.

Junior Wide Out Payton Breese had four catches for 32 yards.
