Cloud County Community College men's track and field athletes Emmanuel Wanga and Mohamed Ahmed have been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances at the University of Nebraska Graduate Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska this past weekend.

Wanga would compete in the 400 meters, 600 meters, and the 4x400 meter relay, winning the 400 meters in a time of 48.67 and the 600 meters in a time of 1:20.81.  The 4x400 meter relay time of 3:18.24 would second and set a Papua New Guinea indoor track and field national record as all four athletes would be natives of Papua New Guinea.  All three events also saw Wanga post National Qualifying Times for the 2022 NJCAA Indoor National Championships in March.

Ahmed had a big day in his first collegiate competition with the T-Birds, competing in the weight throw and recording a mark of 19.33 meters (63 ft. - 5 in.) in his first throw.  The mark would earn him a sixth-place finish and set an NJCAA National Qualifying mark as the mark currently leads all NJCAA competitors in the weight throw this year.
