Four Members of Cloud County Softball Team Receive All-KJCCC Honorable Mention Honors

Cloud County Community College softball student-athletes Ryleigh JonesAlexis BillingsJayden Rehlander, and McKenna Mayhew have been named to the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II All-Conference Softball team following a vote of the league coaches.

All four athletes for CCCC were named honorable-mention All-KJCCC as CCCC saw their highest number of athletes earn postseason accolades in a season since the 2017 season that saw four T-Birds named NJCAA Region VI Division II All-District D honors.

The KJCCC Division II leader in stolen bases this season, Jones would swipe 43 bags to go along with a .394 batting average after finishing as one of three players for Cloud County to start all 46 games.  In addition to the conference lead in stolen bases, Jones would lead CCCC in hits (63), home runs (14), RBI (39), and slugging percentage (.756).  Nationally, Jones would rank 15th in stolen bases and 45th in home runs.

For Billings, a strong showing in conference games would see the Wamego, Kansas native hit .345 against KJCCC foes while starting all 46 games for Cloud County.  Overall, Billings would hit .305 on the year and drive in 16 runs while recording five multi-hit games.

Leading the T-Birds in batting average with a .453 average, Mayhew would finish with the 10th-highest batting average in the KJCCC to go along with a team-best 15 doubles that would rank fifth in the KJCCC and 22 walks (13th-best in the KJCCC).  Mayhew would also make a difference defensively for the T-Birds in the outfield, making just one error in 83 chances while recording 78 putouts and adding four assists for a .988 fielding percentage.

Playing a variety of roles throughout the year for Cloud County, Rehlander would finish with the second-highest batting average on the team in her freshman campaign by hitting .397 with 10 extra-base hits finishing with 37 RBI. Totaling 58 hits (seventh-most in the KJCCC), Rehlander would tally 72 total bases and score 25 runs on the year while hitting .440 in conference play with 15 RBI and just five strikeouts in 75 at-bats.

Cloud County reached the 20-win mark for the first time since the 2018 season this past year, winning 10 conference games for double-digit victories in the KJCCC for the first time in five years while marking a four-win improvement in conference play despite playing 10 fewer games against KJCCC foes compared to last season.
