KJCCC Baseball West Division Players of the Week - Week 6

Helping the Cloud County and Hutchinson baseball teams start conference play with four-game sweeps of opponents, Thunderbird freshman Kellan Burke and Blue Dragon pitcher Merek Yeager have each earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Baseball West Division Player of the Week honors.

Kellan Burke – Cloud County (KJCCC Baseball West Division Player of the Week)
Cloud County freshman Kellan Burke helped power the number four-ranked T-Bird baseball team to a four-game KJCCC opening series sweep over Pratt Community College last week. Burke hit .438 with seven hits, including four home runs and a triple. All four of Burke's home runs came in the road doubleheader at Pratt while driving in a total of 15 for the week and scoring six times. Burke finished the week with a 1.313 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.

Merek Yeager – Hutchinson (KJCCC Baseball West Division Pitcher of the Week)
Blue Dragon freshman starting pitcher Merek Yeager threw six dominant innings to earn his first career victory, leading number 18 Hutchinson to a 9-0 victory over Colby in game two of a four-game KJCCC West Division series. Yeager struck out six and walked one over six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and only one runner to reach third base.
