Maimuna Jallow Named KJCCC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Second Time This Season
Cloud County's Maimuna Jallow earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced on Tuesday, February 3.
Jallow continued her early-season tear at the Washburn Open January 30-31, recording a first-place finish in the Women's 60M Dash with a new meet record and NJCAA-leading time of 7.32. Jallow also won the Women's 200M Dash, establishing another meet record with an NJCAA-leading time of 23.66.
Jallow joined together with freshmen Scholastica Herman, Makaiah Hitchman and Alexis Smith on the Women's 4x400M Relay team that placed fifth in a NJCAA national qualifying time of 3:54.11.
Cloud County will split its team to two different meets this week, with a small group heading to the Fred Beile Track and Field Classic at Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, on February 7, and the majority of the team competing February 6 and 7 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
