Maimuna Jallow Sets Facility Record in the 200M, Scholastica Herman Establishes New Papua New Guinea National Record in 800M at Ichabod Invitational
Cloud County Community College sophomore sprinter Maimuna Jallow won the Women's 200M Dash at the Washburn University Ichabod Invitational on Saturday, February 14, leading the T-Birds in another strong weekend of competition.
Jallow turned in a time of 23.36, which set a new facility record.
Jallow also ran with freshmen Scholastica Herman, McKenzie Baker, and Arihanna Koehn on the Women's 4x400M Relay team that placed seventh overall in a time of 4:01.87.
Herman added a ninth-place finish in the Women's 800M Run, establishing a new Papua New Guinea national record with a time of 2:16.42.
Freshman Addy Goeckel raced in the Women's 600 Yard Run, finishing eighth with a time of 1:32.55.
The T-Birds also saw success in field events. Freshman Whitney Scott placed second in the Women's Pole Vault Open with a vault of 10'8". Freshman Natassia Burrell recorded a runner-up finish in the Women's Shot Put with a throw of 48'3.5". Freshman Zoey Sudbeck was seventh in the Shot Put with a national qualifying throw of 42'2.25". Burrell also added a fourth-place finish in the Women's Weight Throw with a toss of 54'5.25".
Cloud County will now prepare for the 2026 Region 6/Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships scheduled for February 21 and 22 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
