On Friday, September 22nd, Freshman Mya Niehues carded a hole-in-one, acing the 13th hole at the Hesston Golf Course in Hesston, Kansas, on her way to finishing 7th overall out of a field of 98 golfers in the Buhler Invitational.

As a team, the Concordia High School Girls Golf team finished in 16th place with a 423.

"The course was challenging for us, as we played the ball down for the first time this year.  We also found several of the grassy penalty areas and ended up behind many of the trees on the front nine," Coach Gene Rundus said.  "Through it all, the girls kept each other’s enthusiasm up and forged ahead."

Niehues led the way for Concordia with an 82.  Sophomore Anna Widen tied for 46th with a 102.  Senior Brecklynn Bonner shot a 117.  Senior Emma Herman had a 122, while Freshman Maddie Bowers finished with a 127.

The Concordia Girls Golf team is back in action Thursday, September 28th when they travel to Clay Center for a tournament.
