Seven Concordia High School Wrestlers Headed to 2022 KSHSAA Class 4A State This Weekend

The Concordia High School Wrestling team will take seven wrestlers to the 2022 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 4A State Wrestling Championship in Salina this weekend.

Concordia High School Wrestling Coach Josh Brown is proud of his team’s effort throughout the year and has enjoyed how they have progressed from the beginning of the season.

Concordia High School Senior Keyan Miller, a returning state medalist, captured a 1st place finish at 182 lbs. at the Class 4A Regional Wrestling Tournament in Abilene last weekend.

Last year Miller made his first career appearance at the state tournament, posting a 6th place finish at 170 lbs.

At 37-2 on the year, Coach Brown is excited for Keyan to close out his Panther wrestling career at the state tournament.

Junior Daniel Vines is 35-1 on the year and coming off a 1st place finish at 126 lbs. at the 4A Regional Wrestling Tournament.  Coach Brown hopes to see him carry that momentum into this weekend.

Sophomore Christian Belden has qualified for his first state tournament at 106 lbs.  Belden, 32-6 on the season, posted a 1st place finish at last weekend's 4A Regional Wrestling Tournament.

Also this weekend, Senior Logan Leiszler will compete at 120 lbs., Senior Nathan Brown will wrestle at 170 lbs., Sophomore Ashton Dooley will wrestle at 113 lbs., while Sophomore Easton Swihart will wrestle at 138 lbs.

Coach Brown said they are approaching this weekend's state tournament like it's just another tournament on the schedule.

The 2022 KSHSAA Class 4A State Wrestling Championship will be held on Friday, February 25th and Saturday, February 26th at the Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina.  First round matches begin at 10 am Friday.
